LAURA’S TOP THREE CORPORATE CHRISTMAS PARTY DÉCOR TIPS ARE:

MAKE AN ENTRANCE

Take note from some of Manchester’s most popular hospitality venues and make an entrance.

My biggest tip and the place to really go to town with your festive décor is the entryway to your venue. It’s where you can set the scene for your night and give guests a hint of what’s to come.

Your festive entrance doesn’t have to be a big budget, but it does have to have the wow factor. No hustling in through the side door please.

Flank the entryway with miniature Christmas trees, candles, or decorative lanterns. Light it up. If your budget is more generous then opt for an archway over the doorway decorated in your colour theme.

Some of our best parties have an entire section of the venue dedicated to making an entrance. A magical winter wonderland with real life ice queen, or an enchanting hidden wardrobe that takes guests directly to Narnia. Walk your guests through an immersive experience to start the party on a high.

MAKE IT PERSONAL

Personalised touches make all the difference and can become part of the Christmas party décor too. Consider monogrammed baubles, bells or stockings, custom-made crackers, or engraved place cards to add a personalised, high-end feel to the party.

Take it a step further with a personalised award ceremony. It doesn’t need to be serious. Gift awards for funny or touching reasons as well as the more serious ‘high achiever’ awards. Best brew maker, the person who brings the most smiles, or company comedian … the possible awards list is endless.

CREATE A FOCAL POINT

If your corporate Christmas party décor budget is smaller this year, then it’s better to spend it in one area than try to spread it throughout the room too thinly. Create a gorgeous backdrop, a floral installation, or Instgrammable corner of the room that’s ideal for selfies and sharing the fun. Then keep the rest of the room in a simpler style. For example, use crisp white linens, nestle scented candles, fruit and nuts in rustic bark and winter foliage centrepieces. For a splash of colour, inexpensive plate chargers bring an elegant touch. Much better to create a memorable moment than a flatlining décor scheme.

CORPORATE CHRISTMAS PARTY DÉCOR THEMES FOR 2023

So, what are some of the corporate Christmas party themes that Laura has been working on this year? Here are some of her top trends for 2023, to inspire your corporate Christmas party décor.

A REGAL AFFAIR

Create a Christmas party fit for a king. Start with a sophisticated colour palette of rich jewel tones, emerald greens, magenta, sapphire, or royal blues, accented with gold or silver to add a touch of luxury.

Adorn tables with fine linens, elegant dinnerware, and crystal glassware – coloured to match if you can find them. Incorporate metallic accents through gold or silver chargers, napkin rings, and candle holders for a regal touch.

Create show-stopping centrepieces using fresh florals, gilded branches, or crystal-adorned arrangements. Consider tall, statement pieces like candelabras or oversized ornaments for an extravagant focal point.

Want to create an Instagram moment? Well, it has to be a throne and crown for your guests to feel like royalty.

SPARKLE AND SHINE

Illuminate the space with twinkling fairy lights, chandeliers draped in garlands, or crystal-adorned light fixtures for an ethereal ambiance.

Display oversized ornaments in various textures and finishes like tempered glass to reflect the light. Bring in sequined baubles, or hand-painted porcelain for an extravagant touch.

Finish the look with plush fabrics. Incorporate luxurious velvet, silk, or faux fur in throw pillows, table runners, and draperies to add warmth and sophistication.

FLORAL FANCY

Use flowers and foliage to create an enchanting botanical festival theme. Hang glamorous wreaths and welcome guests with opulent garlands adorned with ribbons, metallic accents, and jewelled embellishments to set a grand tone from the entrance.

Bring in festive florals, arrange lush bouquets of deep red roses, amaryllis, and holly sprigs in gilded vases or crystal containers for a lavish display of Christmas cheer.

PRETTY IN PINK

Never think gold red and green are the only colours for a Christmas party. Pink was the colour of the year for 2023 and it’s set to continue way beyond the influence of Barbiecore, with trends influencers predicting more shades of pink to follow in 2024.

Shake it up and add rose tinted glasses to your Xmas party décor. Pink shimmering tablecloths, rose gold place settings. Fushcia up-lighting. You can still add sparkle for a festive touch, or keep things calm, Boho and neutral with pink hand-crafted paper lanterns and pampas grass or ostrich feather table centres. Go the whole hog with pink Christmas trees which are still trending according to Tik Tok.

Take it through the food and drink too. Champagne cocktails with a splash of raspberry liqueur and a towering pink Christmas cake.

MOVIE SET MAGIC

Take your party to the set of your favourite Christmas movie with a fully immersive set as a backdrop to your event.

Create a cobbled Dickensian street with dimmed streetlamps and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.

Invite guests on a journey through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops aka Elf. Set up your own department store to decorate the ‘North Pole’ just like Buddy in the hit movie (bonus points if you can etch-a-sketch a copy of the Mona Lisa).

Or climb all aboard the Polar Express and create a series of train carriages with dancing waiters to serve hot chocolate and a golden ticket on entry. Pyjamas are a must of course.

If you want to create a whole new world within your event space, hire in actors to add to the atmosphere and guide guests through any interactive elements.

ALPINE / APRÈS SKI

Arrange your party around a collection of wooden chalets, hot tubs and fairy lit pathways lined with snow tipped spruce. Decorate with ski themed décor (yes skis included) – cosy furs and firepits aplenty offering solace from the cold winter night.

LAURA’S CORPORATE CHRISTMAS PARTY DÉCOR TIPS: THE FINISHING TOUCHES

Add scented ambiance and infuse the air with the aroma of holiday spices or luxurious scented candles to create an inviting and cozy atmosphere.

Pay attention to detail by adding small touches like metallic confetti on tables, gilded pinecones, or delicately wrapped party favours to complete the lavish setting.

A luxurious Christmas party is an opportunity to indulge in extravagance, creating a magical ambiance that celebrates the season in style. With careful attention to detail and opulent décor elements, your celebration will be a feast for the senses, leaving guests with unforgettable memories.
