Meet the Team – Goldie Chadowitz

Sarah LewisUncategorised

In a series of blogs aimed at helping you to get to know us better, we’re putting the TLC team members under the spotlight. Next up it’s our southern-based business lead who is charged with managing and developing the London arm of the business, Goldie Chadowitz.

And if you don’t already know, then we’ll let you into a secret, Goldie is a very close family member of one of the TLC team members… can you guess who?

AT WORK

WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT TLC?

My official title is Events Consultant and I currently oversee the London-based activity and outreach for TLC, acting as a point of contact for our clients and suppliers in the South. I work very closely with the team at HQ in Manchester, but it made sense to have a permanent office here as our work developed and diversified in the Capital – so that’s me!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE ROLE?

I have been working for TLC for three years, however, my experience with the company goes back to when I was just a child and Liz (mum) had us folding napkins at events she was organising. You could say I’ve spent my whole lifetime training for this role.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?

There are no typical days when you work in the events industry, especially in this business. It could be anything from meeting with clients, to new venue recces and meetings with suppliers. However, if you know Liz, you’ll know that the extraordinary is part of our everyday lives here at TLC. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT TO DATE AT TLC?

We had a phenomenal event this February and for me, it was a real high. A fantastic bar mitzvah at One Marylebone. It was an incredible party and truly authentic to what we do at TLC…creating memorable experiences.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR JOB?

For me, it’s all about the people. I love working for and meeting people from different companies and backgrounds. Clients, suppliers, colleagues, I’m lucky to have some very special people in my inner circle.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?

Flying the TLC flag and making Liz proud!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT YOUR CAREER?

There have been many highlights in my career over the years, but working for TLC has been a monumental high point for me. I have grown up in this business and seen how much hard work and sacrifice Liz put into it over the years. There’s a huge emotional investment for both of us.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB/ THE FIRST WAY YOU EARNED MONEY?

I was flyering for a local business at age 13. Then working every weekend in a café between the ages of 16-18 years. I guess that gave me a good grounding in hospitality, you learn to work with people, communicate, and how to give good service. That’s a cornerstone of what we do at TLC.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE FUTURE?

I aim to continue to grow TLC London – there are so many opportunities for the business in this region and we’re starting to gain traction and expand our events here. It’s an exciting phase of the business growth to be part of.

WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF?

Live in the present, and do not be scared of pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. That’s where the magic happens!

AT PLAY

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

Kids. Family. Kids. Family. I am basically a one-person taxi service!

FAVOURITE TV SHOW

I love the gritty series on Starz! And recently Criminal Record on Apple Plus.

A MOVIE THAT DEFINES YOUR GENERATION?

Oh, it just has to be Dirty Dancing, I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve seen it.

BEST READ

I’m horrified to admit it but I do not enjoy reading. Sorry to any literary fans. But I can recommend Liz’s book…..I get a mention!

MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2024

Professionally? Producing an event in May for a friend and a new client. Personally – exploring some new places with the family.

FAVOURITE PLACE TO EAT

Feng Shang Princess the floating Chinese restaurant in Regents Park. It’s a fabulous all-around experience.

GO TO PLACE FOR DRINKS OR COCKTAILS?

I love a good pub. My favourites are the Holly Bush and The Red Lion & Sun.

WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH THE MOST?

Some of the comments my kids make!

WHAT IS A CURRENT TREND THAT YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND?

Tik Tok – is it just me? Also, the mini and dress trainer combo for age 12 girls.

WHAT IS YOUR HIDDEN TALENT?

I’m not such a bad cook 😊.

SOMETHING THAT WOULD SURPRISE PEOPLE ABOUT YOU?

Well, this will surprise you if you have met my mum, but I absolutely hate public speaking or being in the spotlight. I’m certainly not a chip off the old block in that respect.
